Based at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center in Nags Head, North Carolina, we specialize in premium deep-sea fishing charters that blend first-class service with genuine Carolina craftsmanship.

Our vessel, Moana, is a 55-foot Buddy Cannady custom Carolina sportfisher — purpose-built for performance, comfort, and safety. From her smooth ride to her well-appointed salon, every detail was designed to provide guests with an unforgettable day on the water.

At the helm is Captain Brad, accompanied by his experienced Mate Nick. Together, they bring more than 25 years of combined experience navigating the waters of the Outer Banks. Their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to excellence ensure that every guest — whether a seasoned angler or first-time adventurer — enjoys a world-class fishing experience.

The Captain
Captain Brad
Captain Brad has earned a reputation for excellence in the sportfishing community. His career began on the competitive tournament circuit, where he served on winning teams in some of the most prestigious events on the East Coast.
In 2022, he led an all-female team to a top-three finish in a tuna tournament — a moment that reflects both his leadership and his belief in empowering all who share his passion for the sea.
Following a major tournament win, Brad had a meaningful conversation with his mother — his greatest supporter — about pursuing his dream of becoming a full-time charter captain. Just two weeks later, she passed away after a short battle with cancer.
That conversation became the turning point of his life. He stepped away from the familiar, committed fully to his calling, and Moana Sportfishing was born.
Today, that same dedication drives every charter he runs. Each trip is more than a day of fishing — it’s a continuation of a promise to honor family, passion, and the sea itself.
The Boat
Moana
Built in 1992 by legendary North Carolina boatbuilder Buddy Cannady, Moana represents the strength and craftsmanship that define the Carolina tradition. She is powered for speed and stability, equipped with top-tier electronics, and outfitted for serious offshore performance.
